Alas the moment I’ve been waiting for has finally arrived — can I have a drum roll please??

A few months ago, editor assistant Lindsay Hunt of Marcus Samuelsson asked me if I’d be interested in contributing a post for Marcus Samuelsson.  I thought I was dreaming, I kind of hyperventilated for a little bit and then jumped up and down (threw in a cartwheel here and there) and tried to act as cool and calm as possible — “Why yes of course, I’d love to contribute.”

But who am I kidding folks?  I was gushing, I could hardly contain my excitement, I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs OHMYGOD IT’S MARCUS SAMUELSSON.  And for those of you who live under a rock, Marcus is an award-winning chef, cookbook, author, and food activist who’s a James Beard Award winner, Top Chef Masters Winner – I mean he’s obviously just a winner at life.  Okay enough with the babbling go check out my guest post for My Mother’s Shanghainese Stir-Fry over at Marcussamuelsson.com.  And stay tune for Marcus’ guest post for his fabulous Left-Over Soup Recipe!

Congrats, Joy! A well-deserved honour, to say the least.
Someday, when you’re all famous and stuff, I’ll be able to tell everyone that I’ve known about your blog for aaaages and they’re so behind the times. :)

Oh my gosh girl! You go! First Marcus Samuelsson, what next?! And this recipe is just perfect! It sounds absolutely delicious, but then again, aren’t our mother’s recipes just the best anyway? =) Hope you’re doing well girl! (which it obviously looks like you are!)

Hey Peggy!! Thank you so much for your kind words :) It’s true mother’s recipes are the best. I’ve almost been afraid to cook some of my mom’s dishes cuz she just does them so well I don’t want to taint the dish. Hope you are doing fab too!!
